FinTech & Banking - 2023–2025
A Web3 crypto trading platform with real-time price monitoring, instant buy and sell, a secure wallet and TradingView-style charts - built to work for someone buying their first coin and someone plotting support lines, on the same account.
The problem
Avana's home page has to explain blockchain and Web3 to someone who has never held a coin, while the trading page next to it needs to carry a live candlestick chart, an order form and a wallet balance at the same time. Both screens sit behind the same login, and neither could be designed for only one kind of user without failing the other.
None of it holds still, either. Prices, gains and losses update continuously, so the interface had to stay readable while nearly every number on the page was changing under it.
Approach
I started with research into cryptocurrency trading patterns and what a blockchain product actually needs to expose - price feeds, wallet state, transaction history. Working agile alongside the blockchain developers, I designed the wallet, the live price tracking and the dashboard while they built the security protocols and performance underneath, so the platform's navigation could stay simple even as its technical surface grew.
The price moves every second. The decision to buy shouldn't.
Trading page
The trading page shows a coin's price in real time and puts mirrored buy and sell forms directly beside the candlestick chart - each with its own price, count and amount fields, and a take-profit / stop-limit toggle for orders that shouldn't be left unwatched. A toolbar on the left carries the drawing tools: trend lines, shapes, text, measurement - so a trader can mark up support and resistance on the very chart they're about to trade against.
Theme
The home page and the trading page both ship in a light and a dark theme, switched from the same toggle in the header. Green and red keep the same meaning - gain and loss - in either mode, so the reading habit a trader builds at night carries straight over to a bright desk in the morning.
Process
Studied cryptocurrency trading patterns and blockchain technology requirements before laying out a single screen.
Designed the trading interface, wallet and dashboard around real-time data and the TradingView-style charting page.
Worked agile alongside the blockchain developers on wallet functionality, live price tracking and the dashboard.
Delivered a platform where security and performance for live trading data sit behind navigation simple enough for a first-time user.
Design decisions
Put buy and sell forms directly beside the live chart, not behind a separate flow.
The trading page's only job is executing an order against a moving price. Sending someone to a modal or a second screen adds a beat between seeing the market move and acting on it.
Gave every account the full drawing toolkit - trend lines, support levels - instead of a simplified beginner chart.
The same login serves someone buying their first coin from the home page and someone running technical analysis. Stripping tools down for the former would have cost the latter the reason they're on the platform.
Shipped the trading screen in a genuine light theme, not just a dark "terminal" look with a palette swap.
Crypto markets don't close. Readability at 3am and readability at a bright desk are different problems, and the color coding for gains and losses had to hold up in both.
Outcome
Avana pairs real-time price monitoring with TradingView-style charts and drawing tools, a secure wallet, a dashboard with full transaction history, and a light/dark theme that carries through every screen - built so a first-time buyer and an active trader can use the same product without either one being underserved.
